How do I win this type of poker?

I play no-limit texas-hold ‘em poker with my family. Most of the players don’t know how to play (just bet big when they have a pair or they bluff with a low pair) and there are only 2 players that know a little about poker strategy and I really need some money for a laptop I wanna buy.

So how do I win? I usually get to the top 3.

The best advice I can give with the information you provided is adjust your playing style to opposite of the style of the table. For example if you notice that everyone is playing tight bet more aggressive and bluff more. Or if everyone is playing lose tighten up and only play premium hands.

One clear advantage you have is that your are playing against regular opponents which gives you a chance to study and take notes on there style and tendencies. Does your uncle bluff a with weak hands and slow play the strong ones? Is your cousin super tight and conservative? Knowing the answers to these questions can make your decision to call, fold or raise much easier.

Don’t forget that your are watching you to so change things up from time to time. Do the opposite of what you normally would do occasionally. Change gears and keep ‘em guessing.

The best way to win is to learn more about poker, and the theory behind it. Since you are always playing against the same group of people, you get to study their betting patterns. By knowing what kinds of pre-flops hands they play with, and their betting/raising/folding patterns, you are able to adjust your playing style against them to expliot their weaknesses. They probably figured out how you play your hands. That’s why you usually end up getting beat by other 2 players. Mixing your game up accordingly based on their playing styles will probably be enough to get you a laptop.

It is easier said than done, so you have to practice your games and plays to improve your winning chance. The best place is to do it online. Pick an online poker room that suits yoyr needs at review sites like http://www.acehero.com/Poker_Sites and start practicing. You will amaze yourself, and soon find yourself playing on your new laptop.

You should just ask your family for money to buy a laptop and play poker for fun.

    Play a tight-agressive game.

This means you wait for the better hands, then bet big when you get them.

You will have to change up once in a while and bluff, but in the long run this will pay off.

Some good advice here. I’d like to add that you want to pick on the weaker players and go after them more. The worse a player is the less you need to beat him/her. With the better players you’re going to need more to go against them. Try to isolate the weak by trying to get the good players out of the hand which will mean playing your hands more aggressively early on.
