What is a safe proxy to use to hide my location so I can play online poker?
I’m an Australian living in Italy and I want to play party poker but I can’t because international online poker sites are blocked/banned in Italy. It is legal to gamble online in Italy though and they have special Italian rooms like partypoker.it and pokerstars.it butttt I want to use the normal partypoker.com. I have my account on the international site and with the Italian one you need a tax number and have to create new account and use euros etc.
So any help with proxies would be great because I have no idea about them. I basically just want to have access to international sites by hiding where I’m located or my internet address. Also is it safe using proxies? I mean would people be able to steal my money from my poker account if I used a proxy to play? Oh and its illegal to use proxies right? So if the Italian government found out I was using a proxy to play poker they could arrest me or something? Lol, I really want to play (I earn good money from it) buttt I also don’t want to do anything toooo illegal whereby I’d go to jail or something or be deported hahaha.
Ok so in sum: I would like a safe and secure proxy where people can’t hack/steal passwords and money etc and I also don’t want the internet provider/government to know I’m using a proxy.

I would use a personal vpn, http://www.surfbouncer.com for a couple of reasons.
First, proxies will leak your true IP address and other info via Java and flash. Both of which are likely in use on the poker sites.
Second, the VPN is leaps and bounds more secure than any proxy. This is evidenced by major corporations and government agencies equipping their employees on the road with VPN’s and not proxies for security.
You could easily use their UK servers to make your presence in the UK for the purpose pf playing poker.
